Before I go in detail on what my Pecha Kucha is about let me explain what a Pecha Kucha is..
"A Pecha Kucha is standardised way of structuring a presentation in order for it to be concise and direct. A standard Pecha Kucha lasts for 6.40 minutes and consists of 20 slides, each of which is shown for 20 seconds." Pecha Kucha's are used globally in a a range of places and situations from the top buisnessess to sixth form presentations.
Pecha kucha's are a great way to structure and organise your thoughts it also helps when it comes to presenting as you can reherse your presentation to a routine as such stopping you from stuttering and steering away from your chosen topic.
My Pecha Kucha presentation only has to be 5 minutes long and use 15 slides, each of which will be shown for 20 seconds. The theme of my Pecha Kucha is theories regarding the use of digital networked media in relation to surveillance and persuasive technologies. Therefore I shall discuss examples of self-surveillance and the act of surveillance in general in todays contemporary westernised society.
Below are my notes I would use as prompts to help me when presenting my Pecha Kucha.
I found creating my Pecha Kucha more difficult than expected, I most struggled with my timings which I think can be seen from my notes written above. Although my finished presentation meets the time limit needed some slides are slightly longer than each other. Moreover I think Pecha kucha's is an excellent way of organising and presenting ideas and I shall be continuing this technique with me in the future.
